Despite a ceasefire that took effect on October 10, 2025, Israeli strikes and gunfire continue to be reported in the Gaza Strip, where the humanitarian situation remains critical according to several organizations on the ground.

On Tuesday, the Israeli military injured 17 Palestinians in a drone strike and gunfire targeting a civilian gathering and two camps for displaced people in Gaza, according to local sources cited by regional media.

Since the truce took effect, more than 1,000 people are believed to have been killed by Israeli air strikes in the Gaza Strip, despite the decline in large-scale fighting, according to data compiled by independent observers.

Living conditions remain extremely precarious for the civilian population: humanitarian aid is still considered insufficient by several organizations, which report widespread starvation conditions in parts of the territory.

Implementation of the second phase of US President Donald Trump’s 20-point plan for Gaza has seen little progress over the past three months, according to analysts following the situation.

What to watch

Diplomatic efforts to relaunch the second phase of the peace plan, and expanded humanitarian aid access for the civilian population.
