U.S. forces carried out another night of strikes on Iran — the eleventh or twelfth depending on the count — as Tehran vowed that “no infrastructure will be safe” across the region unless its security is guaranteed, deepening fears of a wider Gulf conflict.
U.S. Central Command confirmed another consecutive night of strikes on Iranian targets, saying the goal is to “further degrade Iran’s ability to threaten civilian mariners and commercial vessels” in regional waters.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth told Congress the cost of the conflict has now topped $37.5 billion.
Israeli media reported that Washington has told Jerusalem it will step up strikes in the coming days, potentially targeting an Iranian nuclear site. President Trump has pledged to hit a bridge or power plant for every ship attacked in the Strait of Hormuz.
Iran’s Revolutionary Guards said one of three targeted oil tankers caught fire after an explosion while attempting to pass what it described as a mined route south of the Strait of Hormuz; two other tankers turned back. Iranian missiles also targeted Jordan, and interceptions were reported over Eilat.
On the humanitarian front, Gaza’s health ministry said Israeli strikes killed 11 people over the past 24 hours, with another person dying of previous wounds.
